There had been buzz circulating this weekend at Coachella that Madonna might make an appearance at Drake’s closing Sunday night set, which made a certain sense since (a) Madonna and Drake have been Instagram-flirting for some time now and (b) we know Madonna loves nothing more than a splashy, attention-grabbing appearance.

And, as it turned out, the rumors were true. After Drake finished performing “Madonna,” off his If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late, Madonna (wearing a shirt that read “BIG AS MADONNA”) herself emerged. She performed “Human Nature” (interspersed with a brief interlude of “Hung Up”), all while Drake sat watching from a chair (reminiscent of the end of Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda” music video). And then, naturally, she sauntered over, kissed Drake quite sloppily on the mouth, and yelled “Bitch, I’m Madonna” before exiting.

Perhaps the two “highlights” of the kiss (yes, it was substantive enough to have discrete phases within it): when Drake attempted to reach for her hair mid-lip-lock, and Madonna amusingly pushed his hand away . . .

And, also, when Drake made this . . . expressive face after Madonna pulled away.

Madonna posted several Instagram shots afterwards, including a final one with the note: “If you don’t like me and still watch everything I do. Bitch, You’re a fan.”
